Operations Supervisor – (Weekend Shift)

The salary range for this position is: $70,000 - $80,000.

Shift: Friday–Monday weekend shift (4×8 hrs, 32 hrs worked, 40 hrs paid)

Friday-Monday: Regular day shift, Sat-Sun: 6 AM- 2:30 AM

 

Position Summary:

The Operations Supervisor – Weekend Shift is responsible for overseeing all daily processing and facility operations during weekend shifts to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role serves as the senior on-site operational leader during weekends, providing direction, decision-making, and accountability across safety, quality, productivity, and employee performance. Reports directly to Director of Operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and manage workflow to ensure timely processing of work and achievement of production deadlines.
  • Supervise team members by clearly communicating job duties, performance expectations, and accountability standards.
  • Monitor and document employee performance, attendance, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Assign tasks to appropriately qualified employees, ensuring alignment with skill sets and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, Nadcap, and internal quality requirements; support audits, corrective actions, and root cause investigations as required.
  • Drive efficiency and process improvements using Continuous Improvement, Lean, or 6S methodologies.
  • Identify and eliminate waste, constraints, and inefficiencies to improve throughput, quality, and cost performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures during weekend operations; actively enforce safety policies, promptly address hazards, and escalate concerns to the EHS/Management team as required.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facility and equipment issues during the weekend shift, coordinating maintenance support and ensuring safe and reliable operation of tools, equipment, and utilities.
  • Provide leadership by instructing, motivating, and guiding employees; Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees; recommend merit increases or progressive disciplinary actions when appropriate.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization (housekeeping) in all work areas.
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions.
  • Identify energy-saving and waste-reduction opportunities and collaborate with EHS, Finance, and Engineering teams to support feasibility analysis and funding opportunities, including grants.
  • Participate in ongoing risk reduction initiatives through internal auditing, safety committee, companywide safety events, and third-party audits.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of metal surface treatment and non-destructive testing processes, quality standards, and safety regulations (including OSHA compliance).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing production needs.
  • Proficient in using production management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  • Write and analyze reports, correspondence, procedure, and training materials. Interface effectively with regulators, joint health & safety representatives, employees, and management.
  • Spanish speaking would be a plus.
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Should be able to lift 25lbs multiple times during the work shift and comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.
