Compensation Range: $60,000-$70,000 per year

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineer (Entry Level) to join our team as a Production Planning, Control, & Scheduler. This role is designed as a developmental position, offering an opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a growth mindset to build their skills in production planning, scheduling, and control within an aerospace manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced staff, learning the fundamentals of planning and scheduling, with a career development path toward Manager – Production Planning, Control, & Scheduling within 2 years.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Maintain, and Monitor production schedules to meet customer demand, delivery performance, and sales goals.
  • Support operations and production planning teams by coordinating with purchasing, operations, customers, and suppliers to align materials with the production plan.
  • Learn and apply fundamentals of ERP/MRP systems, including data entry, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Assist in tracking shop orders, monitoring queue times, and identifying bottlenecks to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Partner with operations leaders to ensure smooth scheduling of work through various work centers.
  • Lead capacity planning efforts by gathering and analyzing data on staffing, resource utilization, and throughput.
  • Contribute to the development and tracking of visual metrics for WIP (Work in Progress), delivery performance, and schedule adherence.
  • Support compliance activities related to AS9100, ISO9001, Nadcap, and other aerospace standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma, JIT) to enhance efficiency in planning and scheduling.
  • Provide support in cross-functional communication between production, operations, engineering, supply chain, and customer account management.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Certifications: APICS CPIM, PMP, or similar certification required within 6-12 months (company support provided).
  • Experience: Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or supply chain preferred; aerospace exposure is a plus.
  • Technical: Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, Expert in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas), reports generation and data analysis tools like Power Bi.
  • Knowledge Areas (Preferred/Trainable): Lean manufacturing, JIT, shop safety, and scheduling principles.

Supervision/Direction Received:

  • Reports directly to the Division Manager (or designee).
  • Works under close mentorship with experienced planners/schedulers and operations staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None at this stage.
  • Expected to develop leadership skills to grow into a Manager – Production Planning, Control, & Scheduling role within 2 years.
