Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has an exciting new opportunity for a Repair Engineering Coordinator. The successful incumbent will be responsible for creating repair schemes to cover unserviceable conditions on F404 (principally) components. The Repair Engineering Coordinator with also carry out engineering studies as necessary. They will also be responsible for the assignment and ownership of 404 modules, handling all relevant engineering aspects and creating various publication and amendments to existing documents.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design or modify repair schemes to fix unserviceable engine hardware.
- Liaise with Magellan shop, Canadian Armed Forces, General Electric and United States Navy personnel.
- Be accountable as errors could result in a failed repair causing engine/aircraft damage plus collateral damage (possibly)
Position Requirements
- 4 Years of Aerospace College Diploma or equivalent, or in absence 10 years Minimum of relative Aerospace Shop floor experience.
- Knowledge & Experience of shop procedures, machinery, grinding, NDT, Welding, Heat Treatments
- Metal Shop knowledge would be assets.
- Examine failed hardware to determine what must be fixed/how.
- Prepare step-by-step procedures to carry out the repair using input from Specialist resources.
- Arrange for approval of any prepared documents and respond to queries concerning the repair project.
- Liaises with other customers (US Navy) to obtain their experience on related projects
- Generate reports/schedules pertaining to all aspects of the job function
- Maintain lists/indexes of engineering repair procedures i.e. MSI and parts life traceability.
- Collects data from the operating bases for further analysis at MAM
- Provides expertise to other members of the F404 Engineering organization
- Participates in CFTO review, update/prepare amending documentation.
- Review and forward for approval of Internal Planning
