Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has an exciting new opportunity for a Process Planner ‘B’. The purpose of this position is to Evaluate product technical data packages & produce manufacturing planning, employing methods that ensure technical compliance & achieve cost & schedule targets.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define process; evaluate designs of products & assemblies, making recommendations for cost improvements.
  • Define setup/standard run times/repairs as necessary 
  • Generate process sheets, material types & produce “Bills of  Material”; instruct purchasing of type, quantity and delivery dates
  • Produce planning in compliance with relevant quality assurance procedures & Health & Safety & Environmental requirements
  • Follow through planning assignments providing technical support to shop floor & sub-contractors
  • Continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist Estimating department with process & standard hours
  • Tool & gauge design
  • Project milestone plans
  • Work with confidential information; customer prices, deliveries, organization plans, programs, design, development

 

Position Requirements

  • 4 yr. Mechanical Engineering Diploma/Degree
  • 5-10 years work experience in related field
  • Excellent computer skills & verbal/oral communication
  • Manager project tooling & NRE budgets
  • Time & tooling cost estimating expertise
  • Methods and time studies
  • Supervisory expertise; assign & check work of junior as well as planners for conformity to specification & manufacturability
