Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has an exciting new opportunity for a Heat Treater (Steel). The successful incumbent will perform the heat-treating of engine components.

Essential Responsibilities

• Work out heat-treating formulae to obtain specified results on all steel & steel alloys using general information available supplemented by acquired knowledge & experience, & record formulae for future reference
• Perform such typical operations as heat-treating machine parts, dies, & tool parts, which must be held to exacting dimensions, & which require only finish clean-up grind
• Heat treat tool steel dies of multiple thicknesses, which are subject to cracking, shrinking or warping. Heat -treat sharp-edged dies, compound contour
• May be required to perform other duties

Position Requirements

• Post secondary education
• 1-3 years work experience in a related field preferably Aerospace manufacturing
• Work to blueprint specifications sheets, process cards
• Identification of metals by means of spark test & hardness check
