Position Summary

 

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has a great opportunity for a Bids and Proposal Specialist. This position will be responsible for facilitating day-to-day management of the bidding and proposal process and review of all inputs and outputs utilizing required internal resources and the BIDS system in accordance with Company Procedures.

 

Compensation: $95,000 - $110,000

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct Coordinate, review and facilitate approval of formal proposals / pricing with Engineering, Estimating, Program Management, Operations and the Executive Team. Subsequent to proposal submission, follow up with the customer and report. Subsequent to the contract being awarded, work with the appropriate Program Manager to transfer responsibility and assist as required to ensure effective contract introduction and NPI (when applicable).
  • Facilitate required negotiation related to proposals to the customer and resultant contracts
  • Manage the receipt, review and response to customer enquiries utilizing the BIDS system and its associated requirements, including risk identification an mitigation. Liaise with BD Team as required.
  • Contribute to overall corporate profitability by ensuring that proposals meet financial requirements and that the agreed to T+C's (Terms and Conditions) adequately protect the company in all eventualities.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Position Requirements

 

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree, Business Administration diploma from a recognized university or college or equivalent experience or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years of business / management experience.
  • Contracts administration experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge relating to industry terms and conditions; understanding of Commercial Law as it relates to terms and conditions.
  • Ability to manage and motivate inter-departmental teams as required for proposal development or project related needs.
  • Familiarity with the requirements and use of the internal Corporate BIDS system
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Negotiation skills
