JOB SUMMARY
Magellan Aerospace, Middletown has an exciting opportunity for a Nondestructive Test Technician Level ll to conduct radiographic and ultrasonic on metal parts to determine if parts meeti nodestructive specidications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Following work instructions
- Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document result.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method.
- Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
- Providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel.
- Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as used by MAM.
- When specified, develop work instructions from approved general procedures. Such work instructions shall require final approval by a Level 3 certified in the method.
- Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities with this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two-year certificate from college or technical school; 3-4 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 40 hours of Radiographic R/T Inspeciton Method Training
- 12 months of experience in Radiographic R/T Inspection
- 40 hours of Ultrasonic U/T Inspection Method Training
- Certification in both inspection methods
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as solid geometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
- The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
