Job purpose
Reporting to the Division Manager on site at Kitchener, the successful candidate will direct and manage Master Production Scheduling, Production Control, Inventory Planning & Management for Magellan’s Aerostructure line of business at the Kitchener site.
Direct the monthly Pre-Rate and Rate Review Meetings to ensure alignment of the production plan with customer commitments. Champion the process to ensure accurate planning parameters and load vs. capacity analysis in support of a doable plan through Production Controllers. Follow up on and address any deviations. Liaise with multiple departments as needed, including but not limited to, Production, Contracts, Engineering, and Quality.
This is a replacement position with an annual salary of $95,000 to $115,000 based on candidate skills and experience.
Duties and responsibilities
Daily Roles and Responsibilities
- Identify and execute on opportunities internally and externally to improve processes and performance including On-Time Completion, Lead Time Reduction, Supplier Cost Reductions, Supplier OTD, etc.
- Manage Procurement processes for bidding, negotiations, supplier development, customer scorecards, and supplier performance evaluation
- Implement supplier LTA’s to ensure the required service level and pricing
- Analyzes inventory; identify and execute on opportunities to reduce inventory and increase turns utilizing ERP/MRP planning and inventory controls
- Lead various initiatives and projects, including Continual Improvement activities
- Ensure all department practices are compliant to the Magellan Operating System™
- Collaborate with IT to ensure the proper tools exist to support the necessary tasks and performance
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly reporting
- Ability to work with confidential information: salaries, product cost, financial statements, customer pricing, organizational plans, programs, design, development etc.,
- Analyze data; make vs. buy, & develop recommendations
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Material Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields
- APICS or similar designation would be desired
- LEAN Six Sigma an asset
- Advanced Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, experience using various ERP systems such as CINCOM, SAP
- 5 years work experience in a Manufacturing environment preferably Aerospace
Physical requirements
The physical requirements of this job are minimal. The daily routine will entail sitting at a desk, general walking to and from meetings and conducting regular floor walks on the manufacturing floor.
Direct reports
This position will have nine (9) direct reports.
