Job Purpose:
The Manufacturing Engineering Generalist is responsible for design and development of CNC machining programs, fixtures, and tooling for manufacturing as well as manufacturing methods and development of performance optimization.
Reason for the position: Replacement
Compensation: $75,743 - $85,311
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Manufacturing Engineering Generalist’s major activities and responsibilities include the following.
Essential Duties
- 5-axis and Mill Turn CNC Programming using Siemens NX
- Design and Development of Fixtures Tools and Jigs for manufacturing
- Machining process design and development
- Data-Driven Decision making through process and machine data collection
- Responsible to ensure Fixtures and Tooling conforms to drawing and is adequate to perform the required operation
- Document Fixtures and Tooling including Customer and DOD owned Tooling
- Functionally capable of Fixture and Tool design in Siemens NX
- Support subsidiary processes such as assembly, deburring and honing
- Responsible for the planning and execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance plan of the manufacturing fixtures
- Works closely with shop floor personnel in the machine shop
- Involved in Manufacturing process planning, including Manufacturing Methodology, PFMEA and creating planning assemblies in Siemens NX
- Proficient with General computer skills, Excel, Power point etc.
- Create and maintain in-process sketches and instructions for Manufacturing Processes
- Interoperate technical drawings for Aerospace industry
- Trouble shooting process issues on the shop floor. Root cause analysis and corrective action
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Stakeholder Management
- Be a critical interface with internal manufacturing, quality and operators as required
- Liaise with tool shops, customers, and suppliers as needed
Continuous Improvement
- Implement appropriate processes for documenting lessons learned and sharing of best practices
- Working with and creating processes towards streamlining order management
Travel
- 0% travel time will be required for this position
Education and Experience:
- Post-Secondary Education in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- Trade certification in machining, CET, P.Eng would be considered an asset.
- 0-5 years relevant experience working in a Manufacturing environment
- Outstanding analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, CAD, and CNC Programming
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
