Key Responsibilities

Join our production team as a Saw Operator, where you’ll play a critical role in preparing castings by operating a variety of saws to remove gates and risers. You'll work with magnesium and aluminum components and contribute directly to quality output and process efficiency.

  • Operate vertical band saws, chop saws, and reciprocating saws to process castings
  • Identify gating systems and risers using color-coded alloy charts
  • Safely handle castings using hoists and manual equipment
  • Position and secure castings using fixtures and clamps
  • Perform cutting, sectioning, and welding of saw blades as needed
  • Transport castings and scrap to appropriate locations
  • Prepare components for inspection, testing, and further processing
  • Maintain saw blades, tools, and work area in top condition
  • Conduct equipment inspections on daily, weekly, and bi-weekly intervals
  • Report any faulty materials or equipment irregularities
  • Comply with safety guidelines and plant regulations
  • Other duties as assigned by management

 

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Relevant job experience or technical training preferred
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and position heavy materials with or without assistance
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to safety and detail

 

Security Requirements:

  • We conduct a criminal Record Check on all new hires
  • We conduct a Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Check on all new hires; must be able to give 3 references to help verify your identity

 

Work Conditions:

  • The ideal candidate will be able to work rotating shifts 5 days a week (Currently morning and afternoon shifts but may include overnight shifts in future)
  • All staff must wear CSA approved footwear, hearing protection and safety glasses when entering the production floor
