SALARY: $60,000 to $70,000 per year

Position Overview

The Process Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. This role ensures process documentation accuracy, supports engineering teams with process-related challenges, and contributes to operational excellence through auditing, analysis, and optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Process Control Plan/Standard Work Instructions (SWI) accuracy and completeness: Maintain up‑to‑date and fully compliant process documentation.
  • Process Control Plan/SWI training: Deliver training to ensure employee understanding and adherence to documented processes.
  • Process Auditing: Conduct regular audits to verify process compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting Manufacturing and Product Engineers: Assist with process‑related issues and implement required changes, including trial validation and results analysis.
  • Reviewing employee suggestions related to process improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Implementing OFI (Opportunities for Improvement) initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Performing Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to analyze and optimize workflow and process efficiency.
  • Determining optimum machine capabilities to support production performance and capacity planning.
  • Supporting 3D‑to‑3D/model‑based definition processes within engineering and manufacturing workflows.
  • Reviewing in‑process digital inspection outputs and making informed decisions based on results.
  • Monitoring and maintaining calibration of scanning equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurement data.
  • Working with vendors and equipment suppliers to support operational requirements.

Education Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Engineering from a recognized college or university.

 

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; exposure to CAD, PFMEA, and SPC software is considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capability to communicate effectively, motivate others, and foster teamwork.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other standard desktop applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills suitable for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and meet objectives within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interrogate CAD models to support process and inspection activities.
  • Ability to revise inspection templates as required to support evolving process needs.

Security Requirements:

  • We conduct a criminal Record Check on all new hires
  • We conduct a Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Check on all new hires; must be able to give 3 references to help verify your identity

Work Conditions:

  • The ideal candidate will be able to work 7am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday with occasional overtime as needed
  • CSA approved footwear, Safety glasses, ear protection, etc.
