Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Electrician to join our manufacturing plant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating and upgrading electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and instrumentation systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and instruments
- Troubleshoot PLCs, motor control centers (MCCs), and control circuits
- Calibrate temperature, pressure, flow, and level instruments, including sensors, controllers, and transmitters
- Install, test, commission, and troubleshoot new instruments and control systems
- Use electronic test equipment to diagnose and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues
- Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and vendor manuals
- Complete accurate documentation for work orders, inspections, preventive maintenance and regulatory audits
- Ensure all work complies with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and company safety policies
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to modify equipment and support new production lines
- Other duties as assigned by management
Education Requirements:
- Certified Electrician with a valid 309A or 442 license
- Certified Instrumentation & Control Technician with a valid 447A license preferred
- Additional technical training in industrial automation or process engineering is an asset
Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial experience in manufacturing preferred
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment for troubleshooting and calibration
- Strong PLC troubleshooting skills including ladder logic and control circuits
- Basic computer skills, including CMMS software
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and safety
- Ability to work independently and in teams under minimal supervision
Security Requirements:

Work Conditions:
- Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- Shift work or on-call availability may be required to support continuous operations
- Physical demands include standing, climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, and production staff
