Position Summary
Responsible for administration of a wide range of human resource programs, polices, and functions including Attendance Disability, and Accommodations Management, Return to Work (RTW) Programs, Benefits Administration, and Employee Wellness Programs ensuring compliance with government regulations, company policies and the CBAs
Essential Responsibilities
- Administers the Attendance Management Program
- Oversees the STD/LTD claims process along with ensuring early and safe return to work for returning employees
- Coordinates with the EHS department, OSI and WSIB regarding workplace injuries and to ensure that safe modified work offers have been made and lost time claims minimized
- Oversees the accommodations process working with the employee, Occupational Health Professional, and Operations in compliance with the ORHC, AODA and any other relevant legislation
- Administers the employee benefits program
- Develops and maintains Employee Wellness Program
- Assists with other HR duties as required
- Provides support to Payroll and EHS departments as required
- Continue to develop and make recommendations for improvements to the company’s existing attendance management, disability management and return to work policies and processes
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Position Requirements
- Post-Secondary Education in Business Management, Human Resources, or Administration OR equivalent experience and/or training in a related role(s)
- Experience working within a unionized environment is required
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment is required
- Excellent understanding of any pertinent government legislation including the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, the AODA
- HRIS, SAP, T&A systems, Disability/Benefits provider portal experience
- High level of competence with standard office equipment and software (i.e. Microsoft Office, etc)
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills
