Job Title: Supervisor

 

Position Summary

 

Magellan Aerospace, Glendale specializes in the manufacturing of precision magnesium and aluminum sand castings. We have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor. The successful incumbent will be responsible for supervising and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure employees start and stop on time including before/after breaks
  • Manage department’s vacation activities to support production goals.
  • Approve employee timecards
  • Ensure work area is safe for all employees
  • Continuous Improvements for safety and production flow.
  • Maintain the 6S standards
  • Ensure all company policies on Safety, Environmental, Company Conduct, POI/WI
  • Manage Overtime equally among all employees
  • Manage and maintain department overtime goals while ensuring the production goals are achieved.
  • Provide feedback to employees for continuous improvement and growth.
  • Maintain production flow and requirements.
  • Develop a plan an take action to improve 6S Score
  • Maintain and update your department Skill Matrix
  • Ensure your department supplies are maintained to meet production goals.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping

 

Position Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum 3 year of supervisory experience or 5 year foundry experience is required
  • Ability to read/write and communicate in English. Bi-lingual helpful
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Ability to assign work and ensure completion to expectations.
  • Proven capability to lead change in a team environment.
  • Sand Casting molding experience.
  • Ability to track department production output.
  • Strong 6S leadership skills to drive improvement
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Able to motivate workers to meet expectations
