SUMMARY: The Engineer is responsible for the inspection and planning incoming parts under the guidance of the Chief of Engineering and in accordance with the authority roster. He or she will plan and document all work required for the repair of individual components, ensuring they are repaired in accordance with all applicable FAA Approved Data and customer purchase orders. He or she is also responsible under the direction and troubleshooting of any technical issues that may arise through the repair process. The Soft Metal Program Engineer will also give direction, improve processes, techniques and training of persons working in the Cold Spray and Thermal Spray departments.   

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Follows policies and procedures established by Magellan Aerospace Turbine Services, ENA Repair Station Manual, ENA Quality Control Manual, FAR’s, Operations Manager, Quality Manager, Chief Inspector, and the Chief of Engineering.
  • Conducts (or causes to be conducted) preliminary inspections on parts received by the Repair Station.
  • Selects the applicable repair routing to be applied to each part repaired by the Repair Station.
  • Plans the work scope to be followed by the Repair Station for each part to ensure that the part is repaired in accordance with applicable approved data.

  • Ensures that details required for the repair process for each part are reported.
  • Trouble shoots any issues that may arise through the processes in accordance with ENA approved procedures.
  • Is familiar with FAR’s and understands FAA procedures.                         
  • Is knowledgeable of turbine engine component inspection procedure methods and inspection requirements for engine types listed on OP Specs.                           

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 – 10 years engineering experience.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanics/dynamics, tolerances, fits and clearances.
  • Experience with machining and tool design.
  • Knowledge of Machining, cold spray and metal spray techniques.
  • Knowledge of material properties and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations pertinent to repair stations, engine and airframe repair/modification certification.
