Position Summary:
Magellan Aerospace, New York has an exciting new opportunity for a Stock Room Clerk. The purpose of this position is to ensure accurate receiving, recording, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods in support of manufacturing operations. The successful incumbent will maintain inventory accuracy, support production schedules, and ensure material availability for the assembly floor.
The salary range for this position is $17.00 to $19.00 per hour.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Accurately receive, inspect, record, and store incoming raw materials and finished goods.
- Perform a wide variety of inventory transactions using the company’s computerized inventory management system.
- Understand and interpret Bills of Material (BOM) releases and issue material to the assembly floor accordingly.
- Maintain organized, clearly labeled stock room and storage areas.
- Conduct routine and scheduled inventory cycle counts and assist with physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with Production, Quality, and Purchasing.
- Ensure materials are properly handled, stored, and preserved in accordance with quality and safety requirements.
- Prepare and stage materials for production and shipping as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with company policies and aerospace standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and material flow.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
- Experience using computerized inventory systems (ERP/MRP systems a plus).
- Strong understanding of inventory control processes and material handling.
- Ability to read and interpret Bills of Material and work orders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
