The salary range for this position is $17.00 to $21.00 per hour.
Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and efficient Material Handler to join our manufacturing plant. The Material Handler will be responsible for the timely and accurate handling of materials and components to support production operations. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring that materials are delivered to the appropriate locations within the plant in accordance with production schedules and quality standards.
Must have a valid and clean driver license.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and parts for quality and accuracy.
- Transport materials between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas using appropriate handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, bandsaw, cranes).
- Accurately track inventory using ERP or MRP systems (CINCOM preferred).
- Maintain proper storage and labeling of materials in compliance with safety and aerospace regulations.
- Support production schedules by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of components.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with regular physical inventory audits.
- Follow all company policies, safety guidelines (OSHA), and aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100).
- Collaborate with procurement, quality control, and production teams to resolve material issues.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- 2+ years of experience in material handling, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing sector.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret packing slips, material specifications, and technical documents.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, inventory software).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Driving record that is insurable
- Occasional travel required within NYS to multiple sites.
- Must live within a commutable distance from Corona NY.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 certified environment.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, aluminum, composites).
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma familiarity is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Warehouse or shop floor environment with exposure to temperature changes, moving equipment, and noise.
- Requires use of PPE including gloves, safety shoes, and eye protection.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
