Position Summary:
Magellan Aerospace, New York has an exciting new opportunity for a Manufacturing Deburrer. The purpose of this position is to ensure that aerospace components meet strict quality standards through the meticulous removal of burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections The successful incumbent will possess skills such as attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to producing high-quality aerospace parts.
The salary range for this position is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform deburring operations on aerospace components using hand tools, power tools, and precision machinery.
- Inspect parts for burrs, sharp edges, and other imperfections, and remove them in accordance with engineering specifications.
- Work with various materials, including aluminum, titanium, and composite materials, while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and production personnel to optimize deburring processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain deburring equipment and tools, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness to uphold quality standards.
- Document deburring activities, including inspection results and any deviations from specifications, accurately and comprehensively.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions for process enhancements.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in manufacturing or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing or a similar precision manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and deburring equipment with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity to perform intricate deburring tasks accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
