The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $95,000 annually.

 

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace – New York, Inc. is seeking a motivated Continuous Improvement Specialist to support and drive operational excellence initiatives within our aerospace manufacturing operations. This role will work closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Leadership to identify improvement opportunities, support Lean initiatives, and help implement sustainable process improvements that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in implementing Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Waste Reduction.
  • Participate in and support Kaizen events and improvement workshops.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and support root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone.
  • Collect, analyze, and track manufacturing data and KPIs.
  • Support efforts to reduce scrap, rework, non-conformances, and cycle time.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations to improve process capability and compliance.
  • Assist with documentation, standardization, and sustainment of process improvements.
  • Support AS9100 and aerospace regulatory requirements.
  • Help maintain continuous improvement dashboards and metrics.
  • Train and support employees on Lean tools and problem-solving methods.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing or continuous improvement role.
  • Aerospace or regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience working in a shop-floor environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt preferred.
  • Experience with Kaizen events or improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO quality systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple improvement initiatives simultaneously.
