Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, New York has an exciting new opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Facilitator. The purpose of this position is to support operational excellence initiatives within our aerospace manufacturing operations. The successful incumbent will work closely with Operations, Engineering and Quality to support Lean initiatives, and help implement sustainable process improvements that enhance safety, quality, delivery and cost performance.
The salary for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 annually.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support data-driven continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations and design manufacturing processes to reduce standard time, improve production flow and in turn improve efficiency
- Assist in implementing Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Waste Reduction.
- Identify process inefficiencies and support root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone
- Participate in and support Kaizen events and improvement workshops.
- Support AS9100 and aerospace regulatory requirements.
- Support efforts to reduce scrap, rework, non-conformances, and cycle time.
- Help maintain continuous improvement dashboards and metrics.
- Assist in implementing Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Waste Reduction.
Position Requirements
- The position requires a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Must have 1 plus year experience in a mixed manufacturing environment consisting of complex machining and assembly
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience working in a shop-floor environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
