Job Title: CNC Operator

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Glendale specializes in the manufacturing of precision magnesium and aluminum sand castings. We have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Operator reporting to Machine Shop Group Leader for daily tasks, while the CNC Engineer performs OTJ training and technical assistance with all modifications.

Essential Responsibilities

·         Required to locate and mount appropriate fixtures for each job, prepare castings, set-up castings in fixtures using written and visual aiding techniques, and run the required operation.

·         Required to inspect parts and notify leadership if any problem exist

·         Expected to meet speed and quality expectation per Group Leader.

·         Are responsible for maintaining machine, workplace, and tool cleanliness on a daily basis.

·         Monitor and maintain all machining fluid levels (way lube, spindle oil, coolant, etc.)

Position Requirements

·         3-5 years of experience in production related environment preferred

·         CNC operating experience preferred

·         Familiarity with basis CNC programming preferred

·         Basic mechanical skills (hand tools)

·         Knowledge of Lean/5S practices a plus

·         High School Diploma or GED preferred

·         Able to perform basic mathematical calculations

·         Familiar with Microsoft office/ General computer skills & knowledge preferred

·         Must be able to lift 50lbs with appropriate technique

·         Good communication skills
