Position Summary:
Magellan Aerospace, New York is seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our manufacturing facility. The successful incumbent will ensure that all building systems, utilities, and infrastructure are maintained in excellent working condition to support production operations in a high-performance aerospace environment.
The salary range for this position is $20.00 to $26.00 per hour.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on building systems including:
- HVAC systems
- Plumbing systems
- Electrical distribution and lighting
- Compressed air systems
- Structural components, doors, windows, and roofing
- Conduct facility inspections and perform preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Respond promptly to building maintenance requests and emergency facility issues.
- Maintain and repair floors, walls, ceilings, and general building infrastructure.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers when required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and facility records.
- Support facility improvement and renovation projects.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred.
- 3+ years of building/facilities maintenance experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Electrical and plumbing systems
- General construction and facility repair
- Ability to read basic building plans and maintenance documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Industrial manufacturing facility environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
